This week's featured article is Baozi Inn, WC2H 7JS, a small restaurant in Chinatown offering Sichuan and Northern Chinese dumplings, noodle dishes, and "small eats".

Unsurprisingly given the Chinese name of the place (人民公社/rén mín gōng shè, which translates as "people's commune"), the decor inside is somewhat Mao-themed.

Notable additions to RGL in the past week include Lola Rojo in Battersea and Le Chamarel on Turnpike Lane.

Magdalen on Tooley Street has closed for staff holidays until Monday 6 September, and Wild Cherry in Bethnal Green has closed for good.

I've been to this place loads of times, and it's always been made of win. The pork baozi buns are made of crack, and the soup noodle is even more addictive. I'm a carnivore and still think the veggie stuff is worth eating.

It's definitely much better to hit the place for lunch rather than dinner as you get to queue outside in the cold if it's full. Which it will be after about 7pm. Did I mention that it's very good?

I've heard that the little stall opposite does decent baozi too — I haven't got around to trying it yet, though it seems popular (the queue for it is just out of shot on the left side of the photo above).
